Indy Scream Park is a fun way to spend a fall night in Central Indiana — like a video game come to life.
The park area outside of the attractions is a wonderful place to be with firepits and cargo containers that have been cut open to provide shelter and seating. Fun can be had outside the attractions too, with the actors coming up behind people and scaring them.
Neon Nightmare 3D felt like waiting in a Call of Duty lobby during a special event, it was absolutely incredible. The EDM music took me back to 2014 — I felt young again. As for the attraction itself, it was a blast, I would highly recommend it for someone weary of haunted houses. It has a storyline with multiple settings in the attraction.
Nightmare Factory Blackout turns the scare factor up a notch. The blackout name is very fitting as it is pitch black walking through the attraction. There are guide ropes in the attraction but it is still easy to get lost if not following the rope exactly. Because I was part of the media, I was provided a glowstick to identify me as such, and that helped guide my way more than anything.
I will admit, I was afraid of getting scared when I first walked in there, but after looking some of the actors in the eyes, I got over the fear upon the realization that the actors are people just like everyone else.
I closed the night with Zombie Paintball. It was unclear what was the correct line and the queue was a little long for what it was worth. It was a cool attraction but I would not say it is a must-visit.
The park is an amazing place to spend a fall evening, just be aware certain areas are not labeled properly. Staff is mostly helpful and is happy to help mitigate any concerns, and they do a great job of keeping everyone safe.

Indy Scream Park is a scare park in Anderson, Indiana dedicated to delivering a fun, frightening experience to all guests that wish to get scared this Halloween season.
I was nervous to experience the park as I have never been to a scare park before. I am quite skittish, but it was pretty fun considering that I only did two attractions, Neon Nightmare 3D and Zombie Paintball. Although it was the least scary attraction according to those I asked, Neon Nightmare 3D packed an insane punch of fright. Between the blaring music, flashing lights and wonderful scare actors, it set the tone for the rest of the trip.
Outside of all of the attractions, scare actors walk around the park and set the mood before you decide on which attraction to go to. They range from characters from famous movies to the park’s own characters, such as the funnier rather than scary clowns. These characters seemed as though they were less for fright and more for setting the mood and making sure your party has a good time.
Zombie paintball was a fun, no scares attraction at the scare park and took the longest to get into. To me, it seems like this attraction is for the end of the night when you are done getting scared but still want to have some more fun. You get loaded into a bus with other park-goers and shoot at zombie scare actors with paintballs in sort of a fair mini-game-esque situation. The actors leading the attraction were engaging and gave careful instructions without taking us out of the experience.
I would definitely say that this scream park lives up to the hype, given its six attractions in one park, along with the fun and engaging scare actors. Indy Scream Park is definitely worth the drive if you are coming from UIndy’s campus.
