‘Creed III’ Movie Review

Lindsey Wormuth | Distribution Manager April 10, 2023 2 minutes read

“Creed III” came out to theaters on March 3, 2023 and is the third movie within the “Creed” movie series. This movie jumps forward 15 years from the previous movie. Adonis’ (Michael B. Jordan) boxing career has come to an end in which he ended as the best boxer and the Heavyweight World Champion. Adonis has retired from boxing and is living a life with the money and fame that he has worked for. He is married to Bianca (Tessa Thompson) and they have a deaf daughter named Amara (Mila Davis-Kent). Their love story had ups and downs throughout the movie because of how Adonis’ boxing career ended. With his retirement came Adonis’ journey with helping a new, rising fighter try to win in their future match, and with that came drama which helped the movie move along.

Throughout the movie, pieces of Adonis’ life begin to unravel when his childhood best friend Dame (Jonathan Majors) returns after serving an 18-year prison sentence. The tension between the two make for an incredible storyline. The quality of the cameras as well as the actor’s ability to get into character is amazing. One thing that is different from previous “Creed” movies is that Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson learned sign language to be able to incorporate the aspect of communicating with their daughter Amara. This part of the storyline gives the audience the ‘aww’ factor because the movie is mostly about fighting, so when they have family moments it brings something new to the movie. The cinematography and the camera angles captured helped this movie be one of my favorites. This movie is a good watch for people who have seen the two previous “Creed” movies or are fans of Michael B. Jordan.
