Best video games to play during quarantine

I know we’re all tired of binge-watching Netflix at this point in quarantine, so if you’re a gamer, or you want to be one, I’ve compiled a list of the best video games to keep you busy during quarantine.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

An obvious choice for many reasons. It’s challenging, it makes you mad, it gets you excited and sometimes you can make new friends along the way. Fortnite is pretty hot, but WarZone takes CoD to another level with the realistic graphics and giant map.  Playing CoD online is an experience of its own. Modern Warfare is available on Xbox, Playstation and PC.

The Last of Us

The Last of Us has been and always will be a modern classic game. It follows two people, Joel and Ellie in a post-apocalyptic world. It’s played from a third-person perspective, but that doesn’t hinder the experience of feeling like you’re in the game. If you want to get attached to some fictional characters, this one’s for you. The Last of Us is only available on PS4 and PS3.

Days Gone

Days Gone is an open-world survival game. There are endless things to do, including driving around, killing zombies, fighting off hordes, and completing missions. This game took me a long time to beat because there’s just so much to do. And the storyline will leave you extremely attached to the Deacon, the main character. This game is only available on PS4.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is another game that will leave you with weeks of gameplay. Set in the Wild West as a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption, this game is also open-world. There are thousands of easter eggs and side quests you can do. The overall storyline is well thought out and developed. By the end of the game, you have formed an emotional connection with the main character, Arthur. Red Dead is available on all Playstation, Xbox and PC.

Grand Theft Auto V

A classic game to mess around in for endless hours of playtime. Do people actually play the storyline? Grand Theft Auto V is available on Playstation, Xbox and PC.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey

If you love history, you’ll fall in love with this game. Another open-world game that never leaves you without a task. Unlike other open-world games, you get to pick your character. So, ladies, if you’re tired of playing macho-men who save the day, you can now be a strong female character that games tend to normally lack. Odyssey is available on Playstation, Xbox and PC.

The Sims 4

The Sims 4 can be played on all platforms, including your Macbook if you so prefer. In the Sims 4, you can make virtual versions of anyone you want and practically do anything you want. While the base game has limitations, you can download mods from the internet to customize your gameplay. However, please use mods with caution because some can cause problems with your game.
