Q&A
Why are you running for Indiana House District 89?
I’m running because I don’t feel like we have fair representation right now. All of these politicians are taking tens of thousands of dollars from special interest groups to basically sway their votes, that’s just my opinion. I don’t want your money, I want your vote.
What committees do you feel you’d be best equipped to serve on in the upcoming legislative session?
I don’t want to put the carriage before the horse here, but I would like to work on the Commerce Committee.
What would be your top priority if elected?
Property taxes. I think that we’re overtaxed on our properties. I don’t think it’s fair that we should have to rent our properties from the government when we own them. Roads and transparency in government are also big concerns for me as well.
What do you think is the biggest problem for the residents of Indiana House District 89 and how would you address it?
Well, there’s a lot of abandoned houses that need to be taken care of. I don’t like all of the large asset managers coming in and buying up all of these properties or the out-of-state landlords that are driving up the prices of our rentals. I think that’s one of the major problems facing the 89, as are property taxes. Our property taxes keep going up and we’re not getting any better government for it.
What role do you think the federal government or national organizations should play in state and local politics?
None whatsoever.
Why should voters support you?
Because I am truly representative of them. I consider myself the taxpayers’ lobbyist. I mean, I’m a regular person just like most voters are. I haven’t been in politics. I feel like we’re not adequately represented. Absolutely not. Our current representatives take too much money from special interest groups to actually be representing the taxpayers interests.
