A UIndy Celebration of Life for Koebe Clopton will be held on Thurs., Sept. 9 at 8:00 p.m. at Key Stadium, according to an email sent by Kory Vitangeli, vice president of Student and Campus Affairs and dean of students.
Friends and teammates will share memories of Clopton at the UIndy Celebration of Life, according to the email.
University of Indianapolis junior communication major and two-year member of the football team Koebe Clopton has died, according to an email announcement on Sept. 2 from Vice President for Student and Campus Affairs and Dean of Students Kory Vitangeli, and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances.
In the email, Vitangeli said that anyone impacted by the event should reach out to the Student Counseling Center at (317) 788-5015 or studentcounseling@uindy.edu. UIndy is in contact with Clopton’s family and is offering them support. Vitangeli said in the email that this is a reminder of how precious life is.
“I encourage you to remember the innate good that exists on this campus,” Vitangeli said. “We are a stronger university as we embrace and continue to protect one another with the values that make us a unique and viable community.”
