Comedy of errors leads to lost emails

Posted on 11.20.2013

For the past two years, Stephanie Berry has been receiving emails with all sorts of questions about University of Indianapolis registered student organizations. And then, the senior nursing major has forwarded them to Stephanie Barry, the student activities coordinator.

“Most of the emails were asking about student organizations and club and meeting times,” she said. “At first I was confused as to why I was getting them, but then realized that there was another Stephanie Barry.”

Barry emailed a “friendly reminder” on the morning of Nov. 15, requesting that RSO leaders make sure that the email address they are sending confidential information to has the “a” in it. She also said that Berry with an “e”—who is graduating in December—could use a break.

Barry wrote in her email that Berry “tries her best to forward them all to me, however, it is unfair to her to be doing that and some of your emails are getting lost because of this. She receives 10 [plus] emails per day that are supposed to be directed to me.”
