ISG: A NEW LEGACY

Posted on 04.20.2011

President Valerie Wilson: ” Each student has a different opinion of campus life and I want to be sure each voice is heard. I can’t be successful in my position unless I am aware of what the students want to see.”

Platform: Wilson aims to address general concerns of the UIndy student population, in addition to building a network of students committed to safe driving habits.

Vice-President Austin Hauser: “I think we have a problem with students not knowing how to go about expressing their opinions on issues that affect their education and lives here at UIndy.”

Motivation: Hauser pursued the vice presidential position after conferring with close friends who encouraged him to take advantage of the opportunity to become more involved.

Treasurer Hannah Purcell: ”If I could make one change to UIndy, it would be to have students recognize ISG as the voice of change on campus. So many great changes can happen through this organization.”’

Motivation: Purcell ran for the ISG executive board in order to take a more active role in the UIndy campus. She will bring her experience as Director of Finance for the Residence Hall Association to her new position.

Secretary Josh Ford: “I decided to run for ISG executive board because I care about issues on campus and wanted to be able to be a voice for the student body.”

Platform: Ford plans to work closely with the Krannert Memorial Library staff in updating the building and its holdings, in addition to maintaining optimal communication within ISG.
