Review: Hands All Over

Posted on 09.29.2010

After three years of silence, Maroon 5 has returned to the music scene stronger than ever.

Their newest album “Hands All Over” is a refined and mature version of their debut album “Songs About Jane.” Songs such as “How” and “Just a Feeling” provide a soulful sound, while “Get Back” and “Stutter” are dynamic and lively. Maroon 5 perfects memorable beats that stay in your head long after you’ve closed iTunes. The only downfall of the “Hands All Over” album is the lyrics.

They’re rather forgettable. Maroon 5 centers their songwriting on finding love, losing love and wanting love. Maroon 5 is very successful at ensuring that their albums never sound the same, but there is a certain lack of creativity in the lyrics.

With frontman Adam Levine’s signature high notes and the band’s toe-tapping beats, they continue to succeed in blending pop and rock with their own funky signature sound. “Hands All Over” will surely take Maroon 5 back to the top of the charts and into the hearts of listeners all over again.
