Owl City • Indie Concert

4 out of 5 stars

Walking into the Murat Egyptian room I was unaware of what to expect.
As my anticipation and excitement grew, time drew near and it was time for the show to begin.

Opening for Owl City were the bands Deas Vail and Lights. Deas Vail put on a great show. Following them was Lights, a Canadian band of the same genre as Owl City. After much anticipation, Adam Young and the Owl City posse’ emerged.

The lighting for the entire show was bright and colorful, and helped mock the techno feel of the band. After playing only a handful of songs, including “Fireflies” from their newest album “Ocean Eyes,” the show came to a close.

My personal favorite was “The Saltwater Room.” This song, like many other Owl City songs, leaves the listener feeling relaxed.

Overall, Owl City put on a great show, despite Young’s inability to perform a longer set due to an illness. The show was fun and upbeat. It was just what one would expect when going to an Owl City show.
