Based on true events “Extraordinary Measures,” released Jan.22, took a look at a life of a father, Brendan Fraser, whose two youngest children have a genetic disease called Pompe, which will kill them before the age of nine.

What separates this film from other disease fighting-related movies is the science and medicine that was integrated into the movie. However, the glorified soap opera acting was parallel to the talent of the director, Tom Vaughary, whom had awkward transitions, sloppy zooming shots and camera lights bouncing off windshields.

Not even Harrison Ford’s change of heart in this heart-warming tale and years of experience could save this movie from going to the dark side.
