5TH SPOT: Beatlemania

When it comes to cover bands, The Beatles are hard to replicate. However, Beatlemania Live, with their costume changes and enthusiasm, does an okay job. The cover band of The Beatles performed Friday, Sept. 4, at the 2009 Rib America Festival held at Military Park in downtown Indianapolis. The timing for this performance was appropriate with The Beatles’ remastered albums and Rock Band released on Sept. 9. The band had four costumes to go along with different Beatles eras: Ed Sullivan, Shea Stadium, Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road. This performance was more about the experience than anything else, but the music and vocals were still good. People of all ages crowded around for a good time. Overall, it was a very fun and entertaining performance.
