"Parks and Recreation"

“Parks and Recreation” is the newest of NBC’s Thursday night comedies. It is set in Pawnee, Ind., and it focuses on Leslie Knope, played by former “Saturday Night Live” veteran Amy Poehler. Knope is a local government worker in the parks and recreation department who has unwavering optimism and loves her job to a fault. After the first two episodes the series is beginning to open up and showcase the talents of a strong supporting cast. Shot in a style similar to “The Office,” the show is comprised of individual interviews that allow us into the thoughts of the cast. Poehler is funny as the devoted but clueless Knope and the best part of the show is going to turn out to be the excellent supporting cast. However, I wouldn’t schedule my night around this one.
