The show “Important Things” features comedian Demetri Martin performing stand up and sketches revolving around a word of the week. Demetri is definitely an up-and-coming comedian. He has written jokes for Conan and Jon Stewart. Also, he was named the top 25 funniest people in America by “Entertainment Weekly.” Fans will be happy to hear that his intellectual jokes, twinkling foot bells and large sketch pad are still there. However, while this man is hilarious, he is trying to do too much in his show. His skits, while having an amusing idea, are unnecessarily long and fall short compared to his stand up. He should stay away from sketches and stick to jokes. Overall, this show is worth watching
