A chilled-out study break at a coffee shop is always nice.
When there is soft background music, it is usually better.
Newly formed band Christel is comprised of three UIndy students, grad student Laura Bentley on violin, senior Josh Littlejohn on drums and junior Ryan Brock on guitar.
The band performed at The Abbey, a cool coffee house downtown on Feb. 6.
The band itself mainly performed cover songs for the majority of the night, such as The Swell Season’s “Falling Slowly” and The Beatles’ “Let It Be.”
The band also performed a few originals. A funnier highlight to the show was when Brock performed spoken word to a jazz-style beat.
However, the band still has a long way to go. Not a bad start, but there is plenty of room for improvement. They still were a good time.
