“Defiance” is a story about four Bielski brothers whose Belarusssian neighborhood is invaded by Nazis in Hitler’s Germany.Tuvia Bielski is the older brother who leads Jews into the forest to live in a community in defiance of Hitler’s orders. Tuvia provides leadership as the band of survivors build shelters, collect food and water and attempt to live in secrecy. Make no mistake, there is a reason this movie is rated R. It’s a war movie after all. It’s not too gory, but there are killings on screen. Still, it’s a heart-warming story about Tuva and younger brother Zus who have their rivalry, yet reunite in the end to defeat German forces.
