Call of Duty: World at War
By Dan Dick | Staff Writer
Call of Duty: World at War is vicious in its brutal portrayal of the second World War. In the latest installment of the franchise, World At War places the player on the eastern front, vividly illustrating the savage combat between the Red Army and the crumbling Nazi Reich. The game also features the franchise’s first sortie into the Pacific, chronicling the American advance through the Japanese Empire. The game is dark and ominous, refusing to simply paint the war as a crusade against evil. Ambushes and Banzai charges will leave the player with a sense of dread that no Call of Duty game has ever been able to produce. The game’s graphics are superb, whether it is the beautiful island scenery of the Pacific or carnage of battle.
