The light is fading and life for the citizens of Ember is about to change forever.Tim Robbins and Bill Murray bring to life characters from Jeanne Duprau’s riveting novel, “City of Ember”. The film enthralls the viewer in the story of the inhabitants in the doomed underground city of Ember, as its power sources and food supplies are beginning to fail. Saoirse Ronan portrays the heroine of the film, Lina Mayfleet. Lina and her friend Doon Harrow (Harry Treadaway), team up to leave the dying city and escape the corruption of the mayor (Murray) and his guards. Lina and Doon discover secrets that were thought to be lost forever, and what started out as a search for a way out of Ember becomes a race for their lives. This film offers a touching look at friendship, bravery and excitement of people “underneath the surface.”
